Files

Your site can carry one file, such as a price list. Visitors can open it and download it. You manage it on the Files page in your dashboard.

Uploading a file

Drop a PDF, JPG or PNG onto the Files page, up to 10 MB. There is room for one file. To swap it, press Replace and choose the new one. The old file is deleted. Your title stays, but Replace clears the caption and shows the file again. Enter the caption again afterwards, and turn Show on your site off again if you had hidden it.

The ⋯ menu on the file has Preview full size, Open in a new tab, Download and Remove. Download only appears once the file is shown and your site is live. Remove takes the download off your site and deletes the file.

Title and caption

The title is required, up to 200 characters. It starts as the file’s name, so change it to something a visitor will understand. “2026 price list” tells them more than pricelist_final_v3.pdf. The caption is an optional line of up to 200 characters. No layout shows it on your site at the moment, so you can leave it empty.

How the file appears depends on your layout. Scroll shows a PDF page by page, with a Download bar along the bottom. Visit and Staple put the title on the About page as a link that downloads the file, with its type and size beside it. Scroll only reads PDFs, so use a PDF if your site is on Scroll.

Show on your site

The Show on your site switch controls whether visitors see the file. A new upload is shown on your site straight away. To hide it, turn the switch off and press Save. Visitors no longer see it, and the file stays in your dashboard. The switch is locked only if you clear the title. Add a title first.

To hide the whole Documents page rather than the file, use the Shown or Hidden switch for that page in the Pages card on the Site page.
