Milkcrate is launching late 2026. These docs show how it will work.

Enquiry form and inbox

Put a contact form on your site, choose the questions it asks, and read and reply to each enquiry in your Enquiries inbox.

When a visitor fills in the contact form on your site, the message arrives in Enquiries in your dashboard and is emailed to you. The sender is also added to your contacts.

Turning the form on

Open Enquiries and select Edit your contact form. Two settings decide whether visitors can write to you:

  • Show the form on your site is the switch. Turn it off and the form leaves your site. Your questions and past enquiries stay.
  • Enquiries go to is the email address each enquiry is sent to. The form can’t go on your site until this is filled in.

While the form is off, the Enquiries page says so at the top and offers a Turn it on button.

The questions

Every form asks for a name and an email first. You can’t remove those. After them, Milkcrate suggests questions that suit your industry. You can keep them, change them or write your own.

Press Add question to add one. Each question has a type: short answer, paragraph, dropdown, one choice, checkboxes, date, number or phone. A dropdown, one-choice or checkbox question needs between 2 and 10 options. You can mark a question as required, add a line of help text under it, and drag questions into a new order. The form needs at least one question after name and email and can hold up to 12. A counter beside the list shows how many you have used.

Two questions can do extra work. A question set as the Enquiry subject gives each enquiry its subject line in your inbox and email. A question set as the Enquiry phone number saves the answer as the person’s phone number.

Use Preview form to see what a visitor will see. Adding, editing, reordering and removing questions only change your site when you save.

Reset to suggested works differently. It asks you to confirm, then replaces your saved questions with the suggested ones straight away, without Save. Enquiries you already received keep their answers.

The inbox

Enquiries has four tabs: Inbox, Replied, Archived and Spam. New enquiries sit in Inbox with a dot beside them. Open one to read it, including the answers to each of your questions. It is then marked as read.

Reply opens your own email app with the sender’s address and a subject already filled in. Milkcrate doesn’t send the reply for you. Pressing Reply moves the enquiry to Replied. If you answered another way, choose Mark as replied from the menu.

Archive, spam and erase

Archive moves an enquiry out of your inbox without deleting it. You can move it back with Move to inbox.

Mark as spam moves it to the Spam tab and blocks the sender’s email address for 90 days. Anything they send in that time is quietly dropped, and they are not told.

Erase details wipes the message and the name, email and phone on that enquiry. It cannot be undone. The menu item says Erase details and the confirmation asks “Erase this enquiry?”. It is also there on enquiries in Spam. Their other enquiries and their contact stay. To remove everything about them, erase them in Contacts.

Moving it out of Spam doesn’t unblock the sender

Not spam puts the enquiry back in your inbox. It does not lift the block. The sender stays blocked until the 90 days are up.

Bots and double sends

The form runs a bot check before it sends. If someone presses Send twice, you get one enquiry, not two.
