Policies
Settings → Policies holds the privacy policy and terms on your site. Milkcrate writes them for you, or you paste your own.
Settings → Policies has two cards: Privacy policy and Terms and conditions. Each one works the same way and has its own choice.
Write it for me
This is the default. Milkcrate generates the text from your details and keeps it current. You can read it in the card. You don’t write or update anything.
My own text
Choose My own text and paste your policy into the box. Your text replaces the generated policy on your site. You can’t save this option with the box empty. To go back, choose Write it for me again.
Press Save on the bar at the bottom of the page to apply either choice.
Where it appears on your site
Your privacy policy is at /privacy on your site and your terms are at /terms. The small notice under your contact form and email sign-up links to your privacy policy. Press View on your site on a card to open the page. The button only appears when the site has a policy to show.
Not legal advice
The generated text is a general example. Each card says so. What your policy and terms need to cover depends on your business and where you operate. Check that they fit before you rely on them, and get advice if you’re unsure.
