Milkcrate is launching late 2026. These docs show how it will work.

The Site page

Choose how your site is laid out, how it looks and which pages it shows, with your real site beside the settings.

Site in your dashboard is where you change how your site looks. It has five cards: Architecture, Colour, Text, Layout and Pages. It doesn’t change what your site says. That comes from Your content and Identity.

Where it starts

You don’t start from a blank page. When you finish Get started, Milkcrate picks a starting look from your industry: colour, background, font, boxes and spacing. A business starts with a full-width top bar and its main colour comes from your logo or photos. Text size starts at Standard. Nothing is locked afterwards, so change whatever you like.

The preview

On a computer, your real site sits beside the settings in a phone-sized frame. Pick something and the frame shows it, with “Updating” next to it while it loads. The frame has an Open link that shows the same view in a new tab. On a phone or a narrow window there’s a button in the header instead. It reads View site until you change something, then Preview, and either way it opens your site in a new tab. Preview shows the changes you haven’t saved yet.

Nothing reaches your site until you press Save. A bar at the bottom counts your changes (“2 changes”) and has Discard and Save. Page switches and page order aren’t in the preview. They take effect when you save.

What you can change

  • Architecture: how your site is built. Scroll, Visit or Staple.
  • Colour: your main colour and the tint of the background.
  • Text: font, size and letters (capitals, as written or lowercase).
  • Layout: top bar, corners, boxes and spacing.
  • Pages: which pages show, and in what order.

Colour, text and layout covers the Colour, Text and Layout cards. Pages and Actions covers Pages and the separate Actions page.

Choosing an architecture

The Architecture card offers three: Scroll, Visit and Staple. Milkcrate never changes it for you.

  • Scroll puts everything on one page. It’s where every site starts.
  • Visit gives each section its own page.
  • Staple puts your name big and bold on top, with a page for each section.

Your choices on the other four cards apply to all three. Switching architecture doesn’t remove any of your content.
